My Life with the Chimpanzees by Jane Goodall
I have read 156/156 pages.
  The conflict in my book is...I'm not really sure what conflict it is, actually. It can be Man vs. Man because people fight over things related to nature and environmentalists and people who want to destroy nature also fight, though not physically. It might also be Man vs. Nature, because many want to decrease the amount of nature, but I doubt it. It can also be Man vs. Self, because it is also an internal conflict about what to do about pollution and other world issues. The conflict was introduced in ca. the last 50 pages, after Goodall had talked about her life. The entire 1/3 of the book was dedicated to talking about what you can do for the environment, what needs to be done and telling amazing story about nature and wildlife. I would react the same way to this conflict over pollution, nature and wildlife as Jane Goodall. She has dedicated a huge part of her life to these problems, from she was 26, to her current age of 79 years. She has never stopped fighting for nature and I don't think she will ever stop. It will never stop. It's not like one day, everyone will decide that we should just get rid of nature. No, and Jane Goodall has a big part in that decision, even if it is in the future.
  I am not sure if this conflict will ever be solved, but I think everyone hope it will be solved in a good way.
  "If a chimpanzee can reach out and help a human, then surely we humans can reach out and try to help the chimpanzees and all the other creatures we live with in the world today. This is what I am trying to do. I hope you will help me." (Goodall 121)

The main character of this book is William Kamkwanba the story until i read was about the childhood of main character. personal trait of the character is chewing a bubble gum.

Main character is Brian Robeson. He is an emergency volunteer. When he tries to rescue people they all died before he comes, but there was a guy who died in front of him. He is a guy from hatchet and this is the story behind hatchet and the Brian books. He shows how he made his own bows and arrows, he shows how to survive in jungle alone. He also shows the mistakes could made there.

The main character in this book is Randy Pausch who is also the author of the book. 

He is optimistic. Even when there was death close in his path, he didn't collapse, he stood up and found a way to spend his days left in a more meaningful way. He is also very experimenting. He always wanted to try new interesting things and so he needed to be confident. With his confidence, he achieved most of his childhood dreams. Even though he is a serious man who never waste his time, since time is all we have, he is also out going. He is social, caring and friendly. In one part of the book, he made a point that people are more important than things. His sister's children came over and she was explaining to her children to be careful with his new car. "While my sister was outlining the rules, I slowly and deliberately opened a can of soda, turned it over, and poured it on the cloth seats in the back of the convertible." (Pausch 70). He is mentally and socially a fit person. Is he physically fit? No and yes. No, because he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer which is happening to his liver and physically fit means that your body systems are working well. Seems like Randy's is having problems. But also yes, because he is physically very strong. In the lecture, he actually performed push ups on the stage. So Randy Pausch, he was a great man who lived a great life which was shorter than many other people's but left after teaching us how to live.

Non-fiction Book - Anne Frank

For my non-fiction book, I am reading "The Diary of a Young Girl" (which is Anne Frank's diary). So far, I have read 92 pages out of 335 pages. In the book, Anne Frank talks about her life in the Secret Annexe, where she lived for about two years. She says that she never had a real friend, and the closest things to her as real friends were her cat, Moortje, and her diary, which she named "Kitty." In the very first page of her diary she wrote; "I hope I will be ale to confide everything to you, as I've never been able to confide in anyone, and I hope you will be a great source of comfort and support." (Frank 1) Even though she never had a true (close) friend, she had lots of good friends at her school, and an equal amount of male admirers.  When she started writing her diary, she was 13 years old. She received the diary for her 13th birthday (1942), and she was born on June 12th, 1929. As to er physical traits, Anne does not make any remarks on her looks, nor does she mention much about any physical traits of hers, although she does mention that she has a lot of admirers. So, I think that everyone thought she was pretty.

Nothing to Envy by Barbara Demick

The main character of my novel is a woman named Mi-ran (name has been changed in the book to protect identity). At this point in the book, she is twelve years old. Her facial features are described as "long and pronounced, her nose high-bridged, and her cheekbones well defined" (Demick 16) and she looks "almost foreign and a little wild" (Demick 16) quite the opposite of the North Korean standard of beauty which "calls for pale skin, the whiter the better, a round face, and a bow-shaped mouth" (Demick 16). Mi-ran is not only different in the way she looks but also in the way she acts. She is described as having "a spirited impatience" (Demick 16) and even breaks rules such as the law against girls riding bicycles. Mi-ran is one of five children, she has three older sisters and one younger brother. Her younger brother is favoured merely because he is a boy and Mi-ran often speaks out against the injustice. Mi-ran and her sisters are a topic of gossip in their neighborhood, all four of them beautiful, tall, talented, and athletic, "excelling in volleyball and basketball" (Demick 19). But unfortunately, a topic that can't go unmentioned when discussing Mi-ran's family is her family's origin, a blemish on her family's bloodline that will forever taint their social status. 

Steve Jobs #3

For my non fiction book report I am currently reading Walter Isaacson's "Steve Jobs". As of this point in time I am on page 208/571. Considering the title of this book it is quite obvious that the main character is Steve Jobs, the famed creator of apple. Steve Jobs, has a very interesting personality. I will begin by talking about his personality when he was younger (0-14). During this time period of his life Steve jobs was quite simply a troublesome child. He would consistently play pranks, play around with his fathers tools that were used for fixing cars, etc... However as he grew he began to have consistent mood changes. For example when he was working at apple he might be in a great mood, then see someones idea, and be unhappy for the rest o the day. Also he had a very basic psychology in terms of liking and disliking products, he would either say that a product was great or that it was despicable. But Steve Jobs was also a sort of "Crybaby" when he was at apple. In this current part Steve Jobs is being evicted from the main part of apple, and when he hears this he quite literally runs to his office and begins to cry, "It finally sank in. Jobs realized there was no appeal, no way to warp the reality. He broke down in tears and began making phone calls to his supporters"(Isaacson 206). Now onto Steve Jobs physical traits. As you can see from the picture above his physical traits changed very much. In his youth Steve was in reality a bit scruffy, and simplistic. He would wear jeans and a T-shirt to work, with his long hair cut. However later in life he began to wear turtle necks, and ended up cutting his hair and growing a beard. Other than that Steve Jobs was relatively frail and in the book no interest was shown to PE.
