204/483Fablehaven-Epidémia Tieňov, by Brandon Mull, is a translated version of the original Fablehaven-the Grip of the Shadow Plague. It is excellently translated into Slovak. So far, the two main characters, the twelve year old Seth and fourteen year old Kendra. At the moment, Seth is trapped in his grandfathers hidden haven for magical creatures for his own safety. The antagonist party, Spolocnica Vecernice, would like to get rid of him. His sister has traveled to another safe haven to retrieve a hidden artifact. While she is away, a plague begins turning creatures of light into creatures of darkness. At the moment, two protagonist, Tanu and Coulter, are turned into shadows. The rest of the protagonists, Seth and his grandparents are baffled and have no idea what to do. Fablehaven-Epidémia Tieňov is an amazing story that hooks you in and wants you to read more, it is wonderful.
Two interesting words within the first 204 pages are malatny (page 178) and poskvrna (page 175). The first word means sluggish, slow; lethargic. Example: The surroundings made people sleepy and lethargic. The second word is the Slovak word for 'being looked down on, clean.' Example: their reputations were clean.
