Setting and Conflict Infidel

Infidel Setting & Conflict

The book I am reading is called Infidel, it is the second book in a series of six. This book is written by Ted Dekker and has 245 pages in it.

This book is based on a boy named Johnis who doesn't know which way to choose. He was chosen to collect seven different books along with three other chosen people. He has a choice between saving his mother from the Horde or saving all the towns by collecting all seven books before the Horde.

The setting Infidel is in the future in town (name of town) and in the desert. Half of the book happens in town and the other half happens in the desert. One major event that happened in the desert, what happens is Johnis and "his" army were kill the Horde and get his mother back, but instead a big fight breaks out. One major event that took place in town was when Johnis cut all the chosen people's fingers to the point that they were bleeding then told them to touch the book with their bleeding finger. They see a dark and scary figure then a few minutes later they all hear Johnis' moms voice. Which makes Johnis want to save his mother which leads him to the fight with the Horde.

The conflict of this story is man v.s self because Johnis is always fighting with himself because he does't know which way is right. He doesn't know whether to save his mother or the town and either way he thinks someone will be mad at him so he is fighting with himself to try to decide the correct way. The other one is man v.s  society i chose this because Johnis and his army are fighting against the Horde army. This book is both Internal and External because Johnis fights with himself trying to decide which way to go and for external he fights with the Horde.
