Outsiders

Title: Outsiders
Author: S.E Hinton
Plot:
In the continue of this book, Ponyboy and Johnny finally get out of the old church. Just as they got out, pssing by the church again to get the book Gone With the Wind, they find the church burning. People surrounded the church screaming for the children who were in it burning. None died quite yet. To help the todlers, Ponyboy and Johnny jump into the church and save them, but just as soon as Ponyboy started going out of the church, and just as he was on his way, Johnny screamed, he was still inside. Ponyboy wanted to go for Johnny, but Dally pulled him out because the roof was falling and he didn't want both Pony and Johnny to have problems. Afterwards, Dally went for Johnny. Johnny and Dally were in the hospital, both in bad conditions. That night was a rumble between the Socs and Greasers. Everyone got hurt, but the worst news was.....Johnny was dead. Ponyboy had a bad sickness from the ashes, but didn't tell anyone because of the rumble, he wanted to be in it really badly. After the rumble, of course, the fever got worse. Ponyboy couldn't get into his head that both Johnny and Dally were dead. That was the worst news. When his fever was gone he started realizing reality, they were dead. His best "buddy" was gone. I read the whole book, but I can't tell the rest because of some classmates who didn't.

The Secret Life of Bees

Author: Sue Monk Kidd
Genre: Historical Fiction

This book is getting more interesting as I read it. Lily doesn't like June to much, and June is a bit annoyed with Lily she doesn't really want Lily here. I think she doesn't want her because Lily is white. But then also Zack a black boy in high school has just came back to working at the honey house, and Lily she says it is the first time she has been attractive to a black person. She likes helping him in the honey house they sing songs together while pasting on stickers on the honey jars. It is a certain season where some type of flowers come out and the honey is then purple. One day Lily and Zack go on a delivery for honey jars its about a 2 hour ride. Lily right now is feeling many different feelings. On the ride there she is laughing her head off she is so happy. Zack asks her what she wants to be when she grows up she said a writer, Zack wants to be a lawyer and Lily says she has never heard of a black lawyer before but she knows he will someday. When the get to a house to drop of some honey the both go to get the honey but they stop and look at each other, Zack seems to lean in and she thinks he is going to kiss her but then he doesn't. On the way back so does not say anything she just is so confused. He finally pulls over on the road and she starts to cry, he hugs her until she stops. When they get back Lily feels bad about all the different feelings. Great Events Of the 20th Century

This book has lots of different events that happened so i will talk about one of them:

Man Lands on the Moon- The first man on the moon was Neil Armstrong who at exactly 10:56 landed at the moon. When he took the big step for man kind he said: "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind. Then he started moving across the moon's surface and shortly after Buzz Aldrin the n they had confidence and started to collect rocks and sand from the moon. There is also a rumor that the picture they took is fake since the flag is waving while there is no air on the moon but their explanation is that they enforced it with wires so it looks like its waving.

Going Home-Fing Peace When Pets Die
By: Jon Katz
Pages: 166
Genre: Non-fiction
Alex L.
I started reading this book a few days ago and then stopped, but now that I come back to it, I think there were many interesting things to write about and reflect upon about this book. Going Home talks about personal stories from different individuals and even stories from the author himself, what to do with pets. There are many different "chapters" in this book all talking about different choices you must make if you want an animal, or if your animals is gone. It starts up very sad, his dog died and he came home to bury him on the top of the hill where the authors farm was and so on. During the book the reading is eventually meant to understand that feeling sadness for a pet who is gone is ok because it is normal. There are recommendations included and somethings a pet owner could do to have the best memories once the pat is gone.
Some chapters from this book are:
  1. Speaking for Your Pet
  2. The Perfect Day- includes a story about a man who so he could remember his pet gave him the perfect day and took a day off
  3. Making a Decision You Can Live With- explains how if a pet is suffering or isn't right for your home, make the right choice, don't let them suffer
  4. Welcome Grief
  5. Grieving and Healing Through Stories- explains how through communication and having someone to talk to about your loss will help
  6. Saying Goodbye- the right way to say goodbye even if it hurts
  7. Getting Another Pet
And so on...
The author himself has been through multiple losses which allowed him to write a book about dogs and other animals and what to do about every problem you encounter. He used to have border collies, horses, farm animals, golden retrievers and so on.. After reading this book, I felt pretty sad thinking of how my dog is once going to dye because I know he means a lot to me, but hopefully, every time a pet dies, it goes into a better world, and once we reach that world as well, we will all be reunited.

THE RED NECKLACE by Sally Gardner

After agreeing to the marriage of Count Kalliovski and his daughter, the Marquis needs some time alone he is happy he can pay the depts. Even if he dose not agree with the idea he does not have a choice but to agree to this marriage. And survive threw revolution. Paris is fighting to bring humans rights inside the country so everyone: children, slaves, women, men, would have equal rights, of course not everyone wants that in France, it is not convenient. Rich man would have to pay more to their servants, would have to pay respect to people they do not like however there are more mediocre people and poor people than rich man which are all fighting to have equal rights across Paris, so I can’t wait and see the ending. This book has really amazed me I usually don’t like books from libraries I guess I should never judge a book by it’s cover, I highly recommend this book and I can’t wait for the book’s ending because I am eager every night to find out what happens next!!!!
Sido is becoming always more lonely and sad to me, and some new discoveries about Sido’s mom deaths are emerging until now the only thing clear to me about that argument would be that the Marquis, Sido’s dad had something to do with is wife’s death and that Count Kalliovski helped him committing some crime. I’ll keep on reading  and tell you the ending bye!!!

THE RED NECKLACE by Sally Gardner

There’s been more new exiting news in the Red Necklace, now Sido the poor girl daughter of the Marquis is suppose to marry Count Kalliovski. If she marries the Count all his fathers depts., are going to be repaid. For the first time in Sido’s life her father showed some worries about letting the Count marry her, there was no choice for him or for her if he was not able to pay his dept he would certainly go to jail since Count Kalliovski knows every secret tin Paris, he was going to be able to incriminate him, revolution is starting in Paris and a huge crisis is over taking every rich man in France. Sido has to marry him because she dose not have nay family outside Paris. Or at least that’s what Sido thinks, apparently after Sido’s mom died in the car accident her father did not want her daughter near him or her relatives so Sido was never conscious about the fact of having other relatives outside Paris.
Yann has also escaped from the family he was given to take care for him which is actually the relatives of Sido living outside France, they all live in London, however Yann has run away from the house and has made new friends that have “adopted” him until now. Everyone in London would think he is a sad beggar. I hope that Sido and Yann will meat in London and that Sido will not have to marry and old devil who kills every person who dose not maintain the pact they made. Apparently every time the Count makes a pact with someone he always asks to be repaid sometime with secrets others with money, if he is not repaid in time with money he can wait more time in exchange f more secrets but if the money is late he first send a warning. A black paper letter with white ink and a few days later the man or women who has made the pact with the “devil” is found dead wearing a red necklace.

Lily and Rosaleen have now found a place to stay. They worked with the bees aswell. August the eldest sister is very kind and have lots of courage. June second eldest is kind but Lily feels as if she is always sad but very intelegent. May the youngest is very fun loving but gets sad easily. One day when Lily in the middle of the night decides to go to the bathroom she stops, she can hear June and August talking on the porch. They know she is lying to them, and that she has came for a reason but Lily should tell when she is ready. Lily walks quietly over to the little stream and wads in. She thought about what T.Ray was doing and how he would probably be thinking of ways to kill Lilly when she comes back. The next day August sat on the porch with Lily and told her a story about a nun who didn't want to work anymore so she ran away, and over the years she wanted to go back but she knew they would not take her back. But one day when she did they said they already have her and Mary took her place the whole time she was gone waiting for her to come back. Lily realized that this was a story about her. But she knew T.Ray would not give her any love if she went back home. One night they were all watching the news and something happend to a black person, May burst out crying. It was harder for May to take in. Agust told Lily that this was harder for May becasuse May use to have a twin sister and her sister was strong and she and May were always together they both loved each other so so much. But she just didn't understand why white and black had to be separated. And her sister just kept on getting more and more depressed until oneday she killed herself. So May has always been easily upset. May to get all these bad feelings out had a wall, where what ever she was feeling she would write it down and stick it into the wall. May was a special person so Lily was here to help.

The Outsiders Week 13

I am not reading an outside reading book yet but i am reading a in class book called the Outsiders.

This book is about the rivalry of 2 gangs in a town. The two gangs are the Socs and the Greasers. The Socs are  the kids with lots of money, popularity and friends while the greasers live tuff lives and dont have so much money. This book follows the greasers through their lives, from what I have read the greasers are tuff but can be nice and loving, the socs are wreched, mean and just plain old jerks. There is a maion character in this book he is called Ponyboy, he is a sweet and smart 14 year old kid with 2 brothers and dead parents. The youngest older brother is Sodapop a charming and handsome guy and the olders is Darry, a workaholic and the one that always loves to bug Ponyboy but he does have a heart. The whole greaser gang includes SodaPop, Dally(Not ponys brother), Tim shepard, Jonny and two-bit. All live hard lives but they also care a lot about each other, better than family.
