I am really enjoying the book. So what happened last time was that Lily decided to run away. After Lily packed her bags and starts to run away she thought she had to get Rosaleen out of jail. When she gets to the jail Rosaleen is at the hospital. Lily is worried then she asks one of the police men he sats the men beat her up more and then had to go get stiches. Lily goes to the hospital there is a police man standing near the room but asleep. Lily quickly walks past him. Rosaleen is so surprized to see Lily. Rosaleen puts on her dress. They quickly are able to sneek past the police man. Lily and Rosallen are walking for a long time and then get a ride from a nice black man. Lily asks the man if he can drive them near Tiboron South Carolina. The drops them off and gives them both a cantolope. Lily and Rosaleen are so grateful. The go into the woods to sleep during the night. It was cold and hard ground but they were tired. Rosaleen then asks Lily,"Why Tiboron?" Lily picked to go there because when Lily was little she found a box in the attic of her mothers things. There is a picture of a black mary and on the back it says Tiboron South Carolina. Lily wants to find out why her mother might have been packing to leave that day. When they wake up the start of again. They then go to rest at a little cafe. Lily goes and gets food. While she is in the cafe she see's honey jars with the picture of black mary. She asks a man about the honey, he said there is a house down the street where they make the honey, the owner is a black lady called August Boatwright. And off goes Lily and Rosaleen again. They knock on the door and a black lady opens the door. Lily asks if she is Augut but she is her sister June Boatwright. Rosaleen is about to tell her about the picture and Lily stops and gives her a look, June lets them into the house. The house was old but smelled like honey then in came May Boatwright and August Boatwright. Lily starts to lie and make up a story about how they need to get to Virgina and need more money and maybe if they could stay here for a while and make a little money. The ladies are kind a let them stay.
I am excited to see what will happen next in the story. I hope Lily has a fun time and finds out about her mother.
