My Life With the Chimpanzees

Book: My Life With the Chimpanzees
Author: Jane Goodall
Pages Read: 139/156

The book I am reading is about Jane Goodall and how she pursues her dream to become an ethologist. She was born in England, where she grew up. She then moved to France but she only lived there for a few months because of the war. (World War 2.) She grew up and when she was twenty six years old she finally got the chance to go to Africa and study animals. She had always dreamed of going to Africa and study all kinds of exotic animals. She worked as a secretary for a man called Louis Leakey, but after a while of working with only dead animals, (He was an anthropologist) he let Jane be the leader for a new project based on studying chimpanzees. She lived out in the woods for four months, studying chimpanzees with her mother, and later she went to get a Ph. D in England. She hated being away from the chimpanzees; she had learned to love them all. When she came back she married Hugo van Lawick, and later she got a son called Grub. She continued to study Chimpanzees.
"Louis, skilled in bush lore, followed the leopard's tracks and we found the body of the huge dog." (Goodall 44
I actually could not find a definition for bush lore, but I did find the definition of bush man where it mentions bush lore.
