This is the 4 post of Johannes Cabal the Necromancer by Jonathan L. Howard and I have read all 337 pages.
I think the climax is when Leonie Barrow signs the contract to save her fathers life. Events that lead up to the climax are the whole book but the main points are: arriving at Penlow on Thurse, making women kill her baby, and then trying to get Mr. Barrow to sigh the contract. I was surprised by the fact that Johannes did everything in his power to lure Leonie to the carnival and then was suprisd that she singed the contract to save her father.

"Without drama but swift certain movements, Leonie snatched the contract and pen from where they lay and signed. She thrust the paper at Cabal. 'Leave my father alone,' she said simply. 'No!' cried both men, making Leonie jump. (Howard 305)"
