The Book of Lost Things
By John Connolly
470 pages
The book I am reading this week is The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly. I have only just started the book, so I don't know much about it. So far, it is very good--the story is about a young boy, David, who's mother was killed by a strange disease. It takes place in the time period of WW2, a little bit before The Blitz. David can hear books 'talking' to him, and he starts to talk back to the books, dragging himself into his own mind.
From my perspective, The Book of Lost Things is meant to represent childhood innocence and tell the story of horrifying things through a little kid's eyes. This is a very strange way to tell a tale, but it is entertaining and keeps a person reading through the entire book.
