This Book is a modern day take on Jane Austin's Pride and Prejudice. It is about a girl named Elise who moved from Massachusetts to Los Angeles. She has two sisters, one who is a year older, a senior, and one who is a few years younger, a freshman. Her older sister Juliana starts hanging-out with a boy named Chase and sparks fly from the first moment. Chase has a friend named Derek, and both his parents are very famous actors. Elise thinks that Derek is a stuck-up, snobby, bratty, rich-kid who keeps to himself and thinks he's better than everyone. What she doesn't realize is that he is only very skeptical about people because EVERY ONE wants to be his friend and never knows who his real friends are. Derek secretly like Elise, but she wants nothing to do with him, no matter how GORGEOUS he is, instead she starts hanging-out with his enemy and social outcast, Webster Grant. Webster and Elise hit it off immediately and he asks her to prom, but then he claims he's sick and cannot go. Layla, her younger sister, has a photo of that night with him and another girl. They stop hanging out and her and Derek start becoming closer. He tells her what Webster did to his sister who is in a rehab for depression. What Webster did to Derek's sister is go out with her, only because of the fame os he can get his career going, then he totally broke her heart and did some more things that I can't mention, and because of him she had to go to rehab for depression. In the end Derek and Elise fall in love, head-over-heels for each other and become couple.
