John and Jenny are married about 15 months and because they both had dogs when they were small they want to buy one.
They go to a woman who has Labrador retriever puppies and buy one. He grows very big and strong and they find out very soon that he is a very bad- behaving dog. He even gets fired from obedience school. He breaks so many things in the house; tries to eat out of the trash can and drink out of the toilet. Marley, as he is called, has one big problem: he is afraid of thunderstorms. When he is alone at home, he already ruins so many things, but if there is thunderstorm he freaks out! One time, John and Jenny come home during a thunderstorm and Marley is covered with blood because he tried to get out of the house with digging into the floor and crashing into the walls. The young couple asks a doctor, and he gives them tranquilizer which helps a little.
After some months Jenny gets pregnant. They are so excited that they immediately tell everyone. They are very sad when the doctor tells them it’s a miscarriage. But again after some months Jenny is pregnant again. This time they are smarter, and tell their friends after they are completely sure the baby is alive.
They get three children, two boys and one girl; first Patrick, then Connor, and at the end Coleen. Connor came too early and a long time the doctor wasn’t sure if he is gonna survive but he did.
First they lived in Florida, but then they wanted to live to the countryside so they moved to Pennsylvania. The three children thought that there must be pencils hanging on the trees and bushes and they were very upset when they saw there were normal trees.
Also Marley and the kids saw snow the first time in their lives. They were so excited that they couldn’t wait for it, so they sat in front of the window every day.
