So far the book has been slightly predictable but it has been very descriptive and mysterious. The creepy grandmas are extremely creepy, the dark streets are extremely dark and the book just paints a brilliant mental image.
So far, Charlie has just found he has the power to talk to photographs and his grandmas start inspecting him more then ever. They finally find out his powers and arrange for him to go to a different school; a school for children with special gifts
