This book is about 3 sisters and they all go to summer camp each year. They are all so close, but have very different personalities and separate lives. Calla is one sister and she loves her best friend, but he doesn't love her back. She does not know that though. The whole time Calla is not working at the camp and so is he, just before they go to collage. Eventually he finds out that Calls loves him, but he doesn't love her back. So when he tells her, her heart is broken and her world is shattered.
Daisy is at the camp and is on the track team, she is a great long distance runner. She has never been the sister that boys liked though, so she is shocked when she ind out a boy Joel likes her. When they go to the dance together he kisses her and she wants to stop so he gets very mad and then after that they never talk to each other again. So that leaves Daisy stranded, not knowing where the two lie, but luckily she has her two best friends, aka her sisters.
Violet is in love with James and he is in love with her, but he is off limits because she is at the camp while he is the camp councilor. He is a councilor this year because he wanted to work before going off to collage. They sneak out very often. They both really do love each other and this is not an affair. There is a girl at camp named Brynn who Violet becomes friends with and makes the mistake of opening up to her. She tells her about her sister and her love of Duncan. Then she puts a note under Duncan's door pretending to be Calla and says that she loves him, and that ruins Callas life. Also Brynn and her have a fight because she says that Violet is spending too much time with James and not enough with her friends. Then Violet promises Brynn that they will go out that night and sneak out of camp. They sneak out and there are these boys who are drinking and being very rude to them, but Brynn is drunk so she doesn't mind. Violet calls Calla to pick her up even though Calla is mad her because she told Brynn that she loves Duncan and ruined Calla's life. Despite that Calla picks her up and breaks the rules of leaving camp grounds. They both get caught and have to leave camp. Violet goes to James and they tell each other that they will never forget on another and they will never forget this summer. Daisy does not want to be at camp without her sisters so she leaves camp with them. They ended this how they started it. Together.
