The
main character in my novel is Meggie. She is a 12 year old girl that lives with
her father Mo. Meggie and Mo are really
close because Meggie never knew her mother.
Her mother disappeared when Meggie was three so Meggie and Mo rely on
each other and look after one another. Meggie loves Mo more than anyone in the world.
Meggie has fair hair and looks like her mum (she wishes she looks like her
dad). It takes Meggie time to warm up to people because she keeps moving and
now lives in a secluded place with her dad. Meggie loves to read. With Mo’s
help she taught herself how to read at the age of five. Her books give her comfort; they give her a
place to escape to when she is feeling bored, sad or even scared. Meggie is
strong-willed. When Dustfinger (is first
introduced to the story) she stays awake and spies even though her dad tells
her to go to bed (Page 7). Also, she
refuses to leave in the van until her dad tells her what is going on. She stands up for what she believes in. She
is proud. She is brave and loyal. When
Elinor distrusts Dustfinger Meggie trusts him.
