Requiem by Lauren Oliver, I have read 281/470 pages.
The protagonist (Lena) is actually not the bravest in the previous books, but her character is awesome, and she has grown so much as a person. She is brave, kind, she never lets her friends down and she is very gentle and occasionally shy. The antagonist is the DFA which is an association that stands for Deliria Free America. They are cold, shiny, and hard just like the plastics. They don't have many emotions because they have all been cured, but they are also cruel.
"'But how will we fight?' I feel shyer in front of this woman, with her soft, musical voice and her fierce eyes, than I have in front of anyone in a while."
