Throne of Glass- Protagonist and Antagonist

The protagonist in the book I am reading is Celeana Sardothien. She has golden blond hair, blue eyes and pale skin. She is the Adarlan's assassin later know as the "King's Champion". In the beginning of the book she is in a place called Endovier, it's a slave labor camp. That’s when Dorian the prince orders Celeana to come to the palace and become the King’s Champion. In order to become the King’s champion she has to compete in a competition. Once the competition starts her rivals start to die from an unknown creature during the night. Soon she discovers that Cain one of her biggest rival is the person who is killing the competitors. As the story goes on she becomes close with Dorian and the captain of the guards Chaol. She even becomes close friends with Nehemia the princess of Ellywe. Dorian and Celeana has a romance relationship during the story but Celeana says to Dorian she can’t be with him anymore because she is the King’s Champion.

The antagonist of the book is Cain. He is the rival of Celeana. He is the antagonist of the book because he is the one who is killing the other competitors in order to gain more strength. He can gain more strength by killing someone because he is using a type of magic called Wydremarks. He is trying to gain more strength in order to win the competition. When he is caught by Celeana he bites her so she can die but she is saved. During the final competition he starts off winning because someone poisoned Celeana but she is saved so she uses last of her power in order to win the competition. After the competition Cain tries to kill Celeana but he got killed by Chaol.
