Outsiders

Title: Outsiders
Author: S.E Hinton
Genre: adventure
Plot:
The Greaser gang went out with two Soc girls. At the movie, Dally acted really "cool" but not the kind of "cool" girls like. He was too aggressive. The girls were Marcia and Cherry, both sixteen-year-old cheerleaders from the Socs. Marcia was more the type of girl thats free, fun and free again. She could do everything no problem and never gets so mad at someone that she can't forgive them. Cherry is the type that is serious and doesn't let easy on herself. She says everything se means and fell in love with Ponyboy. Marcia was Two-Bit, but just for fun, it didn't seem serious. After the movie, There was an idea for them to get driven home by the Greasers. To do that, they had to walk to the place the car was parked and then drive them home. On the way, Cherry got a chance to figure out a lot about Ponyboy, even some secrets that nobody else knew, but now Cherry did. He ended up like a real teddy bear from his stories to Cherry, but he knew that Cherry wouldn't tell anyone for him to be a "baby". This was probably the first and last time the Greasers and Socs went out since Marcia's and Cherry's boyfriends arrived, ready to kill the Greasers. Of course, Cherry and Marcia were scared, but it was up to them to stop that. As soon a one Greaser and one Soc took out a knife, she took the problem and responsibility in her hands. She stopped them.

On the way home, Ponyboy and Johnny, one of his best buddies, laid on the perking lot and being so silent, they fell asleep. It was past midnight when Ponyboy arrived home, and of course, Darry couldn't be madder. Smoke was almost bursting from his ears, was he on fire? As Ponyboy started explaining, he got hit, nobody ever hurt him in his family or outside, ever! It was too much for him to stand the torture, so he left and again joined Johnny. And for the first time, Darry was truly sorry for what her did.

If you will want to compare this blog post to my last one, you will realize, that if you didn't read the title you would think I changed the book. Since last week, I have learned about the lives of 4 characters, Harry Keough, his father Paddy Keough, Pee Wee Wallace and Frank "Chico" Parrino. All of these characters have unique traits and have survived their own way. For example, Harry Keough, who is now 68:
  • Lived in a poor place his whole life
  • Has white hair
  • Worked 35 years at the U.S post office
  • Has coached 2 soccer teams
  • And has the best memory ever(He remembers every single coach from each team they played, every goal, scorer and calendar date.)
Paddy Keough, his father:
  • Was smart and high-classed
  • Never started high school
  • Created many quotes in his life used by everyone in the country at the time
  • Knew baseball better than anyone
  • Was loved by everyone, not one person could say they disliked him a bit
Pee Wee Wallace, one of the best players on the team in 1950:
  • Was always an outsider but didn't mind
  • Jokes about everything (during sad, fun and stupid moments)
  • Has been a joker/clown since 2nd grade because he never fit in
  • Looked floopy
  • Played aggressively but clean
  • Died in 1978, brain cancer
And lastly, Frank "Chico" Parrino:
  • Great player
  • Lived his whole life in the same house
  • Was murdered 1994
The most exciting part of all that I just read, I think was chapter 11. In this chapter it talks about how Frank got murdered, he was shot in the head twice by a man named Joe Monti, who was 87 years old were as Frank was in his 60-ties. He was shot because, as everyone says, 38 years ago Joe and Frank got into a fight, during this fight Frank broke Joe's nose and jaw. Joe always wanted revenge, and so a day came where he shot him on the street while he was about to go to work. On the hill where both these men lived, everyone knows everything and will always know. Most of the soccer players still alive, live on that same hill and meat every Wednesday for lunch as it says. The youngest one of them right now is 65, and the oldest 71, but they will always be there for each other even thought they are so different. From all of this, I can say, that this book is truly great!
