Pages read: 35
In the 35 pages that I have read this week, it basically talked about the different types of fire and knots. Here are some of the things that I learned:
Knots:
- The overhand knot: Uses: among the simplest of knots, these form a part of many others. Often used to tie off ends of a rope to prevent it from slipping.
- Double Knotted overhand bend: Uses: primarily used for tying tope or cord together. Reasonably secure but best not to use under great tension.
Fires:
1. 1. Star fire: Thick logs are slowly fed into the central area in a star shape. It also provides a good surface for any pots or pans.
2. 2. Long Log Fire: Long Logs laid parallel to each other are the perfect answer open-front shelter in winter.
