For my book project book I am reading a diary which has been later on published. Its the diary of Bess Bernan who has been a important figure in the American History. The book was at first her diary but later on in the 1970s it has been published. The book comes in series of "Dear America" which are the series which contain all the diaries of important people in the American history, now all of the diaries have been published. The book takes place in North America, where Bess lives with her sister, mother, and uncle. Bess has her sister Mary who look very alike and are very good to each other. The book takes place in winter so Mary and Bess like sledging but one day while they were sledging Bess hit in a tree very baldly and got blinded. She had felt very sad now because she couldn't see any more so her mother sends her to the Perkins School for The Blind where Bess will continue her education.
