Frederick Watson lost his brother in a war. But the story begins when Freddie visits France were his brother was killed to translate a letter. The translator translates the letter written on medieval paper to Freddie. But this letter brought interest to the translator and asked Frederick to tell the story behind the letter. Freddie tells the the story of when he learns that his brother was killed in France and decides to go to France himself as he arrives in a small town in France near the mountains. He goes to a graveyard to see his brothers grave as he enters the old cementary, he has a vision of his brothers he runs in the direction but it all disappears and he notices his mind is playing a trick on him. He tried to think about something else not to be haunted with thoughts of his brothers "Georges" final hours. Rather he wanted to admire the beauty of a near by church. Then he got back to his car to drive back to the original town in France.
The main character in the book is Frederick Watson.
I think this book is a very interesting novel. It could be a mystery, but I cant tell much because I just read the beginning.
