The novel that I chose to read for my current book report is The City of Lost Souls, by Cassadra Clare. The protagonist in this novel is Clary Fray, who is facing the conflict of man vs. man against her brother; Jonathan Christopher Morgenstern. In which she strives to sever the bond between Johnathon and Jace, without killing Jace because as explained by Jace "We are bound, he and I. Cut him and I bleed.". The antagonist in the novel is Jonathan, Clary's brother. For he is leading in his father's footsteps and is planning on overthrowing the Clave, no matter the consequences. Clary is very brave, determined and would do anything for those that she cares about making her very caring as well. While Jonathan is ruthless, driven, as well as de determined although in the worst ways possible. Their physical traits are more distinguished though, Clary has bright red hair, green eyes and looks very much like her mother, while Jonathan has blonde hair that is so light it is almost white and black eyes for he takes after his father in his looks as well as devotion and plans.
