The City of Lost Souls, by Cassandra Clare is the novel which I have just finished reading for my Language and Literature book report.
The novel is set in many countries across the world, in what could be any time; past, present or future. Since the most important aspect in this novel is the existence of Shadowhunters, who are half human half angel. The purpose of their long existence is the safety of humans, who they call mundanes, from the dangers of demons.
The main conflict in this novel man vs. man, which in retrospect is good vs. evil. The story follows Clarissa Adele Fray, who faces the challenge of severing the bond between Jace Herondale, and Jonathan Christopher Morgenstern; better known as Sebastian. Both Jace and Sebastian have been brought back from the dead. Although the difference between them is that the Angel Raziel, who started the race of the Shadowhunters, brought Jace back from the dead; while the Demon Lilith did the same for Sebastian. While bringing Sebastian back Lilith created a bond that seemed inseverable between the two. Throughout the novel, Clary fights to do what is thought of imposible; sever the bond between the two.
I love this book, and i think your summary of the description is really good and accurate
ReplyDeleteNooo!! Clace!! If something goes wrong while Clary tries to do this, Clace is over. :( As you already know, I'm a HUGE fan of the TMI series and to be honest I was dying inside while reading this... Clace all the way :) <3 By the way, are they still partly in New York City like in City of Fallen Angels or?
