A Street Cat Named Bob

A Street Cat Named Bob
Author: James Bowen
Number of Pages: 277

There are many different minor conflicts that go on throughout the book. The main conflict is an external conflict. James Bowen and his ginger tabby cat have a tough life. Even though they have each other, which helps, James has to spend his day busking to earn just enough money to feed himself and Bob. He has a tiny flat with not much to it. James has to worry about having enough money to pay the bills, taking Bob to the vet if needed (which isn't always cheap). There are many other issues that he has to worry about along with those. Bob has been able to help him in many ways and Bob keeps him company and something to live for. When James used to busk people didn't stop very often, but now that he has Bob by his side people come to pet him and because of Bob they give him money. Some people buy treats for Bob as well. They often say "here's a fiver keep and buy something nice for your lovely cat." If James didn't earn enough money for the both of them he would stay and work through the night if he needed to. Bob and James are a part of each other, without each other they would be like any other human and cat. I think that James and Bob will both continue their life and keep busking on the streets, but remember that James Bowen is re-telling a part of his life and what happened in the past. When he finished writing this brilliant book and when copies were made he started selling them which didn't give him all the money in the world but he now earns more than he used to and Bob was the main reason. James may not be the wealthiest man but he sure is among one of the happiest :)!
