Throne of Glass- Main conflict

Throne of Glass
Sarah J. Maas
The main conflict of the book is man vs. supernatural. The conflict is that competitors are killed by someone one by one and it is unknown until it got discovered by Celeana. That someone is Cain the antagonist in the book. Cain is killing the competitors so he can get a magical bond and get stronger in order to win the competition so he can become the King's champion and later become free like any other competitor in the competition.

Celeana's main goal is to win the competition but while wanting to win the competition she has different things going outside of the competition that can concern the competition.

The first obstacle that Celeana goes through is that she is very weak as in physically because she was in a slave camp for about year and you get barely any food, so her stomach got weak and her body has also become weak. When she is taken to the castle, the food the castle serves consists of meat and after eating it she wants to throw up because the stomach isn't used to that kind of food. She is weak and she has to train in order to be able to win so this is an obstacle for her considering the fact she has barely got any food in her stomach.

The second obstacle that Celeana goes through is that she gets attacked from Cain because she sees Cain killing a competitor.  Celeana gets attacked and she gets hurt causing her to become physically weak again because Cain wasn't a human being and getting bitten by him can maybe even cause Celeana to die, luckily she was saved by Nehemia the princess of Ellywe.
