Hiroshima
by John Hersey
Hiroshima is about the nuclear bomb that hit the city, Hiroshima, located in Japan, on August 6th, 1945. A very sad but true story about seven people who were very fortunate in the incident and did not get hurt. They remember what happened the moment before the bomb and after. They recited the events to the author and he took notes and wrote the book later on. Take in mind that this all happened in one city, where hundreds of thousands of people were killed. Everything was destroyed but one, five or ten years later, people reformed and restarted their lives as doctors, mothers, priests, etc..
And in the book, in 1954, 9 years after the bomb, poverty has struck most of these survivors and they have to find a way to prevent it from themselves and others.
