In the non-fiction novel, The Boy who Harnessed the Wind the Protagonist is the author of this book, William Kamkwamba. William Kamkwamba talks about his childhood. He also mensches his family and his society he lives in. He and his family live in a small village in Malawi In this book the Protagonist does not have a particular age, because he is talking about his hole childhood. In this part of the book he is thirteen, and it's the year of two thousand. William was born in the year of nineteen-eighty- seven. He is short and has dark eyes. William comes from a poor family that did not have money for food. This changes in the second quarter of the book. The Protagonist loves his family very much, and supports them in anything that they do. I know that because when his father had to change his job, and the hole family had to move in a small village nearby their home, William didn't say anything against it. Even thou he did no want to change houses. William is also does not share his thoughts with the people in his family. For example when his uncle died he was only listening to other people and not sharing his opinion.
The main conflict in this book is Man vs Society. I know this because the society is influencing Williams decisions and made fun of him because of his height. For example when Williams dog is following him in the shopping center everybody is making fun of him and telling him to take the dog home. William is attached to this dog, but he has to take it home. Because William brought his dog in the shopping center nobody want's to be friends with him. Then William want's to get revenge to all of the people that did not wan't to become friends with him because he was short and that teased him because he was attached to his dog. So he finds out that one of his cousins sell's drugs that make people stronger. William spends all of his family's savings for the drugs. When he gets the drugs, he forgets that the drugs have special rules. One of the main rules was that is you want to the drugs to work do not have a shower for twenty four hours. He forgot that. The next day he tries to prove to people that he is strong by getting in a fight . He losses the fight. When he goes to return his money his cousin reminds him for the special rules. Now Williams family has a finance problem again, because William spend all of their money on drugs.
