Touching the Void By Joe Simpson
The antagonist of the story is not a person but extreme weather and a harsh natural environment. For example, the story takes place on an extremely high mountain which no one else had ever fully climbed successfully. High up on the mountain the weather conditions were also very bad as it would get extremely cold and there was high winds and storms which greatly affected Joe's climb to the top as well as his way down.
The main conflict of the book is Joe and Simon's fight for survival on the mountain against all the odds such as the bad weather conditions. Joe and Simon's injuries where another conflict they had to face as they greatly affected their chances of survival on the mountain as well as a lack of proper food, shelter and protective gear and clothing.
The book you are reading sounds very interesting and the blog post makes it sound even more interesting. It sounds like you have a great book and that it is a good non fiction book.
