Stephanie is a twelve year old girl. Her horror-fiction writing uncle died recently, and in his will he gives Stephanie his large, mansion-like house. Seems slightly normal, since Stephanie and her uncle have been best buddies and love each other a lot. However, when Stephanie meets her uncle's shady friend, Mr. Pleasant, her life goes completely weird. The day that she meets Mr. Pleasant, she finds that the horror books that her uncle wrote might not all be fiction. In fact, all of it's quite true. The ghosts, evil souls and bandaged creatures with no face that want to strip off her skin is very real, and they are after her and Mr. Pleasant. After she finds out that Mr. Pleasant is really a skeleton that can walk around and stuff named Skullduggery Pleasant, what will she do next? Find out next week!
