Fear by Michael Grant

 Title- Fear
Author- Michael Grant
I loved this book because it has some very gross and disturbing moments where you are right on the edge of your seat, desperate to find out what happens. However, those parts are very well balanced by romantic elements and moments of true bravery and wisdom shown by some of the children in the novel. Right up until the last page, you are left guessing about what might happen and there are no predictable moments which I think is one of the most enjoyable elements of a book. Even though there seems to be a few important characters, the book often jumps between major characters and more minor characters in the book which really helps you to feel involved in the story as there are many different elements to the story and many small story lines that need to be brought together to give you the full picture and help you to paint an image of the story in your mind. As a reader you feel involved in every single one of these key moments and feel emotionally attached to every single character you meet. Michael Grant has created strong characters who the reader feels they know well and enjoy reading on about them and sometimes you can really connect to them and they make you feel like you know them or in some causes are them in many different ways. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves science fiction or action novels as this includes all the best elements of these genres and turns them into an amazing series. Throughout the book the author clearly shows the great usage on words and vocabulary and expresses his imagination in a variety of different ways. Truly was a great book although it would have been better the read the other books of the series before this one.
