Book: The Lightning Theif

After trying to find a book better than my last, I finally did. This book I borrowed from my friend who said it would be great. I read more than I was expecting to. The setting first starts in New York, were Percy goes on a 3day trip with his class, what he doesn't know however, is it will be his last school trip. During the first 8chapters many characters are introduced such as:
Percy: 12 years old/Trouble Kid/ Has dyslexia/Doesn't know his father
Mr. Brunner: Latin teacher/ Middle Age/ Wheel Chair/(Weird Camp Director)
Grover: Best friend of Percy/Muscular disease in legs/Half-blood/Percy finds out at camp half-blood that he is half goat(28 years old)
Bad things are starting to happen to Percy, Mr.Brunner and Grover know it because they are not usual people, so they try to protect him from evil spirits. As the summer starts, Percy's mother takes him away from boarding school to the sea, bad storms come and Grover comes out of the no-where for Percy telling him he has to get out of the house and go to a camp. Because Percy didn't tell his mother what all had happened (3 ladies sitting and knitting(sign of death) etc.) his mother didn't know he had to go to the camp, but she always knew that Mr.Brunner and Grover were looking after Percy. Grover takes Percy to a little house in the middle of a field, from the outside it looks like a normal house, but inside it is a huge place with gardens, houses etc. One can't recognize it is a camp, because it was purposefully made so evil spirits wouldn't reach it. At the beginning of the book it talks about a story of Titan Kronos how he had 6 kids which he ate except for Zeus the smallest because his wife hid him, he ate his kids because he didn't trust them, when they grew in his stomach, they got out and together they killed him. So I don't annoy you, i will shorten it now, some weird stuff happens, Percy finds out his father is the son of the god of the sea. He also find out why evil spirits want to kill him (because his father and his 2 big brothers decided not to have any more kids, they said if one of them had kids the others would hunt him down, one of the brothers is the god of the underworld, he is the one who always kept the promise. Zeus however, fell in love had a child, and she was turned into a tree, the tree in front of the camp, now they figure out Poseidon(the god of the sea) has had a child too, the one all the bad spirits are hunting). I would write more, but I will keep it for next time!
