The Ex Games

This is a book that I read this week is called The Ex Games and it is by Jennifer Echols. This is a book that is about a group of juniors in high school who live in the mountains. They all love snowboarding! They finally get let out for winter break. Hayden and Nick are a couple of ex's from back in 7th grade, and they have been teasing and annoying one another since, but secretly they both love one another, now that both of their two best friends are going out, its fate! One day Hayden enters a local snowboarding competition and wins, then Nick starts teasing Hayden about the fact that she won against girls, and girls are bad at sports and that boys are so much better, then they make a bet, and all the girls go for Hayden and all the boys go to Nicks side. In the end Hayden and Nick eventually get together but they always fight and blow up when it comes to the topic of the armature snowboarding competition.The night before everything gets cleared up and peace is made and they are back together. On the day of the competition Nick wins the racing part, but that just physics because he is heavier than Hayden. Hayden then wins the freestyle section. Finally its down to the jump and Hayden will NOT let her fear of heights get in the way. When she was in 7th grade she went off a jump and broke her leg in s many places and could not walk for a whole year because of it and ever since she would never go on jumps, this competition is the first time, and in the end she ends up jumping really really high, higher  than Nick could ever do she did so many turns!! She won the competition in the end and Nick and Hayden lived happily ever after (for now).
