So after a few days that he visited the Why Not? inn there was a huge flood but didn't last long so as soon as it was gone people started going to church again and one day when John was there he heard a loud and wierd noise coming from the ground and he realized that it was coming from the basement a few people ran out scared but the other people didn't say a word like it was not there then the man that took him to the Why Not? said that below them there was a war with ships and the biggest boat witch is black beards was crushing the other weaker ones. He also left after a while and went to sit on his favorite seat which was a huge tombstone that was flat on top and while he was sitting on it he saw a crack in the middle and that crack was big enough for him to fit in. When he came in he saw it was a passage but it was to dark to be able to see and then he remember that he will be late for his aunt tea time so he rushed home but she was already finished all she said was go to bed and game him the silent treatment. He was in bed and couldn't stop thinking about what was at the end of the passage, he thought it was the treasure of black beard. As soon as his aunt went to sleep he got up took and candle and went to the church when he got there he went in and saw that it was a secret passage to the Why Not? inn basement so he looked around and all he saw was coffins of the families that owned the Why Not? and then in the distance he heard some talking and the sound of someone getting into the passage so he found one coffin that was up on a high shelf and got on it and wait for the people to come.
