Eragon Blog Post #2

For my fantasy or sci-fi book report I decided to read the Book "Eragon" By Christopher Paolini. I finished the book already by reading 793 of 793 pages. Now onto the characters starting with the antagonist. The antagonist is known as "Galbatorix". Throughout the duration of the book his features are never really described. Like most fantasy books the antagonist is a harsh emperor who rules the land cruelly and with a fist of steel. Once again though, other than that we know nothing of him other than a bit of his history. Starting with the fact that in his past he was known as a dragon rider, a famous group of protectors of the land who just happened to ride dragons. And that after his first dragon died he descended into madness and wreaked havoc upon the land, and by extension killed the all the dragon riders other than those who swore fealty to him. Now onto the protagonist, who just happens to be called "Eragon". Who would have thought. Anyway Eragon's specific features aren't described and the picture above is what the movie director imagined him to be like. However we do know that Eragon was a farm boy before he found the egg of a dragon (female) whom he named Saphira, and then accompanied by an old man named Brom sought to find the equivalents of the patriots from the american revolution. These patriots were called the varden.
