Anne of Green Gables 2

Last week I had little time to read so I am still reading Anne of Green Gables. In this book they decide to keep Anne and she makes a bosom friend. Her bosom friends name is Diana and she is very much a young lady. However, if Diana's mother does not like you, no matter how much Diana likes you, she would not be allowed to play with you. Anne has formed an enemy boy at her school He had a crush on Anne, but he kept on making fun of her and Anne did not like that one bit. At one point Diana comes to visit Anne and Anne meant to serve her a sweet drink, actually was wine. They had no idea what they were drinking, even after they tasted it, for they have never tasted wine. Diana started to feel very sick, for she drank 3 tub fulls of it (at age 11!!!) and went home. Diana's mother smelled her breath and realized that Diana was very drunk. No matter how many times Marilla or Anne have apologized, Diana's mother will not relent. She is as stubborn as a mule.Anne is very sad and so is Diana, but they promised that they would never forget each other. I really hope that later in the story Diana and Anne will be bosom friends again!
