I have read a article about ow did Serbs survive the world war I. Since the war started by an Serb Gavrilo Princip in the capital of Bosnia, Sarajevo. Serbia has gone through much pain and suffered great losses in this war. until in 1918 the kingdom of Serbs Croats and Slovenians has conquered Vojvodina which is the northern part of Serbia which was always under the Hungarian rule. In 1917 Serbian troops start moving up to Vojvodina and conquering the whole area, before that the north est city of Serbia was Belgrade. The war started because this eighteen year boy killed the Austro Hungarian ruler Kaiser Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo on June 24 1914 from that day Serbia and Austro Hungarians begun a long and painful war which both countries suffered great losses; Serbia loosed 50% of its population in World War I.
