MATILDA

Matilda by Rhoald Dahl, page 101-158

As we have noticed Matilda was a genius. If you talked with her she would seem like a normal 5 years old kid but you couldn’t see her brilliance. But only if you started a conversation with her about math or literature you could see her brain-power. That is why it was easy to make friendships because all the kids liked her and, fortunately, they all knew how smart she was. Her best friend was Lavender. The reason they both liked each other is because they were both gusty and adventurous, each of them for a different reason. From all those kids Matilda had started friendships with and from those who didn’t even know tails begun to spread about Miss Trunchbull the headmaster of the school. A tail, which people start to believe because of her behavior, that she didn’t like small kids and that she said that she never was a child, she had said that! A second tail is that she had a tiny, small room that she locked the children. You will say that it is okay to lock a child in a cupboard but the worst thing is that at the walls of the cupboard glasses, and spiky nails were glued and a lot of children can prove it. Some of the have been locked at the “chokey” as they called it For to make you understand how small it was the floor wasn’t more than 10 inch! One day a girl called Amanda had pig-tails but, unfortunately for the poor girl, Miss Trunchbull don’t like them. So she grabbed the girl from the pig-tails and started swinging her and finally she let her “fly” till the bushes. All the new children wonder why no child has ever told that something horrible like that had happened. The answer is obvious. The first reason is that no parent would believe that something like this had happened and the second reason is that if somebody believes it he wouldn’t have the courage to go and talk to her because she was very strict. That is the secret key of Miss Trunchbull, she did thing that someone could only imagine them and it would never happen at reality. After this extraordinary break the whole school had an Assembly, thing that is never good for none. So Miss Trunchbull called a boy, whose name is Bruce, and called him a thief for stealing a piece of her own fabulous cake, that the cook made. Then she made him eat a whole cake by his own for to feel guilty about eating her cake but none knows what happened next…
