He was a poor boy who lived in a small hut with his four
grandparents and his parents. The Bucket family could only afford a small
chocolate bar a year, which was their only luxury.
Near Charlie's tiny home there was a big Chocolate Factory
owned by the best chocolate maker in the world, Willy Wonka. Mr.Willy
Wonka had disappeared for about ten years and that was a big mystery. No one
ever knew what happened to him but all they knew was that he quit his job
because people were stealing his recipes.
One day, there was a news in newspaper that Mr. Willy Wonka was
back. It was said that there will be a search all over the world for five
golden tickets. Anyone who found a ticket would be able to visit his factory
and after that would be able to eat his chocolate whenever they wanted for eternity.
Charlie, being so poor had no expectations.
Charlie's grandfather,
Joe was full of hope, so they decided to try, and indeed they succeeded.
factory was huge, with incredible machines, and Charlie's breath was taken away.
Children, not listening to the instructions of Mr. Wonka, and being greedy
encountered nasty surprises until they disappeared.
Since Mr Wonka was old Charlie was to take over the factory.
There is still something to be mentioned, and that is the
episode with the glass elevator. Charlie and his family were taken in it
into the space. It was again Mr Willy Wonka's responsibility to bring them
safely back to Earth. But, this will be the subject of the next Roald
Dahl's book.
This book was very entertaining for a 6 hours
ride by bus and I'm pretty sure it would be entertaining to anyone and anywhere. Roald Dahl is witty and fun and I like his books very much.
