I'm reading a non-fiction book called " Swimming to Antarctica " by Lynne Cox, as I was reading the book some of the characters in the book referred to the main character as Lynne so it might as well be an autobiography. When I heard this book being picked out in the library it sounded nice because this is a true story about a swimmer, just like me, the book seemed a little long but I'm going to give it a try ! So far as I'm reading the book its about Lynne and she talks about her whole life, all important times, and her feelings. She lived in New Hampshire all her life, and always had swim practice, they would swim first and then do calisthenics, but Lynne was different she just wanted to swim all the time, whether storm or not.
Her family decides to move from New Hampshire to California they didn't want to but Lynne didn't mind, her parents loved to see her swim, and they were moving to the same area as the Belmont Plaza ( where the Olympics of 1968 were held ). Before they left her fellow swim-mates parents, coach, and friends said that she will swim the English Channel, and that was her dream from there on and to get better and better at swimming. Ever since they moved there Lynne didn't like anything much besides swimming, she disliked school because they did everything without permission and the weather there was not like anything similar to the weather in New Hampshire, she missed New Hampshire more than she thought. With all that going on swimming was going great, she loved her new Coach Gambril ( he was a big professional retired football player ) he was kind, nice, and truly believed in people, also in their swim team they had Hans Klein and Gunnar Larsson two very excellent and all-time winning swimmers. That's so far to where I got to the book, its interesting and I think it'll get more and more as I go through the book.
