Winterdance: The Fine Madness of Running the Iditarod - Post #1

Winterdance The Fine Madness of Running the Iditarod

The book that I had selected to read for the non fiction book report is Winterdance: The Fine Madness of Running the Iditarod. I selected this book because I do not really like non fiction and biographies, although this book seemed a bit more interesting than other non fiction books since it would have a more interesting plot that evolves around action.

Currently, in the pages that I have read, this novel is about a man who participates in dogsled races. The man has a crew of fifteen dogs, eight of which are "problem dogs", which means they have some behavior problems. The "problem dogs" and the man go practicing one evening, and there was a large storm outside, so the man fell off the sled and  the sled almost tipped off the mountain onto a gigantic canyon. By luck, the man and dog get saved and continue sled racing for now.

Finally, a word I did not know at the beginning was actually a word that was included in the title itself - Iditarod. This word means an important dog sled race run on the Iditarod Trail (google). This word is used in the title of the novel.
