The Witches

Title: The Witches
Author: Ronald Dahl
Pages red: about 30

In my book, I have two main characters. One of them is a boy and the second one is his grandmother.
Boy's parents are Norwegian but his father has business in England, so the boy had been born there.

The boy: The author (the narrator) describes himself as seven-eight years old boy. His parents died in car trash. Their car skidded off the road and went tumbling down into a rocky ravine. The boy was the only one that survived because he was sitting into the back seat. He doesn't say anything special about himself but I understood that he is scared of witches and he can't believe that his grandmother's stories are true.

After the car trash the boy is living in Norway with his grandmother.

The grandmother: She is Norwegian too. She knows many stories about witches. The lady is tremendously old and wrinkled. Her body is massive wide.

Examples from the book:
  1.  "This old lady, as far as I could gather, was just about the only surviving relative we had on either side of our family". (page 12)
  2.  "She sat there majestic in her armchair, filling every inch of it. Not even a mouse could have squeezed in to sit beside her". (page 14)
