Hiding Edith, & When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit

Hiding Edith

Genre: Non- fiction, A true story

I have finished the book "Hiding Edith" and it is just an amazing book! I have read many books about Jewish people and children in danger and the things they need to do but i have never read a story like this. Starting from where I left of in my last blog post, Edith is now going to the Jewish camp called Moissac. Everyone there is very nice to her she even meets a really nice girl called Sarah. The Nazis are coming so Edith goes on her first camping trip with everyone else she is very scared at first but ends up having a lot of fun. She returns back to the Moissac. She misses her mother terribly and wishes she were here with them but she keeps on believing. One day her mother comes to visit! Edith is very happy! Her mother and sister are doing well they are both working in a house a maids. After a while the town is not safe anymore. Nazis will be staying longer now it is not safe at all not even in the forest. So they need to close down the Moissac. Each night counselors are taking a few children and sending them to homes usually in pairs. But the girls have hiding identities they now have different names, religion, and where they were born. Edith does not like this she wants to be Edith some some other girl. One night Edith, Sarah, and 2 other girls are taken to a boarding school. No one knows that they are Jewish but no one is very nice to them. They have to pretend that they are orphan girls. But they all have bad time, the rooms are horrible, they have no showers so they are stinky and dirty, and they barely get any food to eat. Edith and Sarah are having a terrible time. But then over the days they hear the ariplanes up above. They are the good planes the ones who want to prtect the jewish people. But the people in the airplanes bomb the school because it is german school so bombs are let go and smash into the school. Will Edith and Sarah be able to get out of this dreadful place? Well then read "Hiding Edith" by: Kathy Kacer.

When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit

Genre: Historical fiction

I have only just started to read this book so far it is about a little Jewish girl named Anna living in Berlin with her family. The elections are starting soon. Her father is a famous writer but the Nazis were going to take away his passport. So he has moved to Switzerland so he will stay safe. If Hitler wins the elections he will stay there and the family will come join him but if he doesn't then he will return. Anna is not very found of this idea. But just to stay safe they have decided to go to Switzerland. That is all I know so far.
