A HOLE IN MY LIFE by Jack Gantos

Here I am in the end of the book, and I am deeply interested to finish it. After Jack was caught he was closed in a minimum prison for 2 years. He explains to the reader how he stole a library book and used it as a journal by writing in between the lines. Jack is miserable and sad in jail he like all the other prisoners are counting every day that passes some with a calendar others writing numbers or sticks in the wall, other crazy man by hurting their self’s everyday so they can remember the pain once they got out!!!
How it was awful to be locked up and be able to see a little town right next to the prison, looking at their lives every Easter, Christmas, and Halloween every party, but at least from looking at everyone else happy life outside the jail he could remember his childhood, and he would write the stories in his diary. His father came to visit him only once, he was drunk with a friend and didn’t come in visiting hours, Jack tells us how every experience in his life changed him in every way.
How one day he decided he wanted to get out of prison, and he made it. Jack was able to get into a New York College he pain in cash and attended a writing program for inspiring writers, of course there were some conditions he had to have a home and a job. His father was able to give him both thanks to some friends. I loved this book it was very interesting looking at someone else life in such a different point of view and now I am inspired in reading more Autobiographies like this one.
