A HOLE IN MY LIFE by Jack Gantos

I am still reading the realistic book “A Whole in my Life” it’s very interesting being able to follow little by little the life of such a unique person, this book is a very well written auto-biography the protagonist which is also the writer is explain the beginning of his messed up youth in detail and it’s writing about how prison changed him in a good way.
I am very closed to the end. Until Now Jack (Protagonist, writer) is telling us about his 6 moth trip in the sea, how he loved it and hate it at the same time.
He tells about how he was illegally shipping to New York hashis (drug) with his partner in crime which also was his boss that tried to kill him and hated him. It’s amazing how you can see with your mind every emotion he felt how he was realizing day by day in that boat he had no idea how to ship, that he really might get caught he kept a journal for everyday spent inside that boat.
The high climax in this book were I just got to explains how they got cough, both of them had no idea they were being followed, they left each other in the way to escape never looking back for the other one. In conclusion the only real thing Jack wanted was money, and adventure he wanted to save-up for a College and became a writer, I can’t wait to read more!!!!

  1. this sounds like a good book and really awakening to what is happening around us, we just don't see it, and it is a good example of how a bad man turned good. Good choice Irina and well written!!
