From what I read so far, the protagonist in this book is Nathan. He is fourteen years old and he has a job to do at night which he has to do but doesn't really want to. The job is to be the light house keepers assistant. Nathan and his father work the night shifts while four other people work the day shift. Nathan's mother is sick and her cough is getting worse again.The antagonist still has not appeared in the story, however I think it might be the survivor who is on the island. It can also be people from lighthouse George because Nathan, his father and the people from the lighthouse all want to find the man who is on the shore. They know that there is a man on the shore because they found one pair of footprints there. So far, I really like the story and can't wait to see what will happen next.
