The Clocks by Agatha Christie setting+conflict

Setting
The novel is taking place in a town Cowden on the Sussex coast in England, UK, between 1960 and 1970. The story revolves around the murder of a well dressed man whose body was discovered by a girl Sheila Webb in the house number 61 Wilbraham Crescent Street. The neighborhood where I think most of the story takes place is peaceful street of half moon of double houses and gardens set back to back. The residents are living peaking into each other's yards but claiming they do not know much about their neighbors.

Conflict
This is an external conflict man vs man. Sheila Webb, a typist to hire was sent to a house for a new job. She was told by her boss to enter the house even if no one is home and wait in the room on the
left. Sheila entered the room and behind the sofa she almost tripped over a body of an unknown man. The house owner Miss Pebmarsh, a blind teacher of the braille came home couple of minutes later. Sheila told her about the body and ran out of the house screaming. She bumped into the agent Colin Lamb who was walking down the Wilbraham Crescent street looking for clues of his own investigation. Mr. Lamb called his friend detective Hardcastle to come and investigate the murder. The victim did not have an ID card with him and no one knew who he was. The detective and the agent interviewed a colorful group of people that were neighbors to Miss Pebmarsh's house.

Involved
The people involved in this conflict are Colin Lamb an agent, Ms. Pebmarsh and  the detective Hardcastle. Detective Hardcastle is involved because he is the one leading the investigation of the murder and trying to draw conclusions in order to find the murderer. Agent Colin is detective Hardcastle's helper with interviewing the neighbors. Miss Pebmarsh is the owner of the house where the body was discovered. I think  by the end of the novel we will see that the murder has something to do with her. There are also Miss Webb's boss and couple of neighbors that are involved more than others but for now I think the main ones are the three that I mentioned.

Prediction
I predict that Ms. Martindale, the owner of the biro where Miss Sheila Web works will be guilty for the murder maybe as a planner or accomplice. I think that Miss Pebmarsh might get murdered in order to get the story more interesting and complicated. The whole scheme of actors and planners in this mystery will be uncovered by a  special character and I'm waiting for him to jump out. He is Hercule Poirot, well known detective from Agatha Christie's novels. He will probably show up only to uncover the mystery in his slow and long explanations.
