Conflict and Characters in: Rangers Apprentice Book 4

Ranger's Apprentice by John Flanagan
327/327 pages

The protagonist(s) in my novel are Will, Halt, Horace and Evanlyn. Will is a Ranger's Apprentice; a Ranger being a person of small stature assigned with bringing justice across Araulan, and also doing other official (or not so official) tasks. They are an elite group of people who mostly keep to themselves but not in Will's case, who has many friends and accomplices due to his orphanage past. His mentor is named Halt, a grizzled man of about 50 years, but who loves this was of life and keeps it up as if he is much younger. He is hilarious and has perfected the art of raising just one eyebrow and looking inquisitive, usually when he utilizes sarcasm. Horace is a fully fledged knight, with lots of talent and skill. He towers above everyone else, standing at about 6'7". He is very innocent. Evanlyn, also known as princess Cassandra, is the crown princess of Araulan, who is stuck in a foreign country with her 3 cmrades. She is very brave and quite stubborn. The antagonist of this book is not one person, but a whole group of people. These people are named the Temujai - horsemen from the far east set out to conquer other countries. I wont mention anything more because that would count as spoilers. The conflict is Man vs Society because the Temujai are a society. This book is a 12/10 so go check it out.
