Son- Lois Lowry

By Nurul

The setting of this book is in the future, in the Vessel and Fish Hatchery, and a village near the sea but not in the community. There is no seasons or weather in the community but in the village the seasons are Winter, Spring, Autumn and Summer and the weather is sunny and raining. In the community the river surrounds the community so the citizens won't be able to swim to another community. There are rules in the community like no one is allowed to cross the bridge to elsewhere without permission, you're not allowed to apply for a spouse if you are a birth-mother and there are more rules. In the village there are no rules. The values of the community is that you must obey the rules no matter what otherwise if you break the rules you will be released for breaking the rules. In the community things are fair and there are no complaints from the citizens in the community.

  1. Nice summary. the thing I don't understand is the difference between the community and the village. Why are they not connected?
