The Golden Compass-Protagonist and Antagonist

     Lyra, the Protagonist, is an orphan who lies at Jordan College. She thought that Lord Asriel was her uncle but it turns out that he was her Father. She also met her mother, Mrs. Coulter, in England. Mrs. Coulter is the person in charge of the Gobblers. Lyra is trying to find the Gobblers with the help of the Gyptian people. They are people who live at sea. The Gobblers have been stealing kids from all over the world and taking them to the North Pole. Lyra has a device call an Alethiometer. An Alethiometer is a device that has three dials and 3 small hands but a longer hand that moves on it's own. The person who is holding the device has to ask a question in their head, turn the dials to the symbols on the device, and the longer hand will give you an answer. 

      Mrs. Coulter, the Antagonist, is the boss of the Gobblers, a group of people and daemons who steal kids from all around the world and run tests on them. Or so everyone thinks. No one knows what they want with the kids only that they are keep in the North Pole. Mrs. Coulter is in England most of the time but she does go back and forth. She stays in England to try and find kids to steal and she was going to use Lyra to find more kids. Mrs. Coulter is the mother of Lyra and Lyra was kept away from her because of the actions she did when Lyra was only a baby. Lord Asriel was the one who gave Lyra to the Jordan College. Mrs. Coulter has trap him in the North Pole guarded by Armored Bears.
