The main protagonist in this Novel is Luke Challenger. He is a sixteen year old teenage boy who is from England. His best friend is the second main character in the novel and his name is Nick. Luke goes on this crazy adventure in search of his mother who went missing in the Amazon where she went looking for dinosaurs. Luke's main goal was to find his mother alive and well so that he could take her back home. Luke is very determined, strong and hopeful as he goes on this journey.
The antagonists of this novel are Nazis who are trying to steal diamonds from a cave in the Amazon which only Luke knows the location of. They want to kill Luke so he can't stop them from getting the diamonds. Throughout the story, they try to kill Luke many times but he always manages to escape them. The one of the main antagonists is a Japanese women who got the closest to killing Luke and she was his biggest enemy and the most dangerous of the Nazis.
