The Chaos
The book I am reading is called ''The Chaos'' by Rachel Ward. It is a book about a teenage boy who can read the dates of someone's death by looking into their eyes. His mother had the same gift of reading people's death dates, and Adam had received it from her. Only that he could even see wether it will be a painful death or a natural one. But a year ago, his mother had died, and now Sarah, Adam's Nanny takes care of him. One day, Sarah and Adam were discussing about somehting, when soldiers came infront of their house door and told them to open. But Sarah did not want to so the soldiers broke into their house and told them to leave because the flood will come soon. The whole city stood under water, and day by day, the water rose up higher and higher. But Adam did not want to leave. He didn't want his mother's house to overflood.
shredded: When something is being cut into many pieces or when something breaks.
evacuate: Means to remove someone from a place of danger to a safe place.
