Rangers Apprentice Book 4

Rangers Apprentice Book 4: Oakleaf Bearers by John Flanagan

This is a direct sequel to the previous book, The Icebound Land. This book was also known as "Battle for Skandia" but the name was changed. In the beginning, Will, the protagonist, and Evanlyn, also known as Princess Casandra, find themselves stranded in a snowy cabin in a foreign country. I wont spoil any of the previous book, but Will is a member of a special forces group called Rangers, which are nothing like the modern day US Army Rangers because this book happens in medieval times. The Rangers are a group of stealthy individuals who specialize in recon missions and archery. Will is still recovering from addiction to Warmweed, a drug, which means that Evanlyn has to be the one hunting, even though will is superior at doing this in every way. While Evanlyn was checking snares, she was captured by a small war party. Will sets out in search.

The two words that I learned are Haphazard and Trifle. Haphazard means lack of order, and Trifle means a object with little value.

His desk was decorated haphazardly with trifles.
